ASME Section Takes Part in Family Day 2016 in Washington D.C. ASME Section Takes Part in Family Day 2016 in Washington D.C. ASME Section Takes Part in Family Day 2016 in Washington D.C. On Saturday, Feb. 27, the Washington D.C. Segment of ASME took an interest in Discover Engineering Family Day 2016 at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. The area facilitated an intuitive display at the free occasion, which is a yearly involved building and science celebration held every February during Engineers Week at the gallery. At this years Family Day, the Washington D.C. Segment introduced the show Waves. Driven by ASME area part Tom Beutner, the show highlighted a progression of short hands-on and intuitive exhibits of different wave wonders in various mediums, including sound, light, and mechanical waves. Almost 8,000 guests halted by the ASME stall to find out about the study of waves and make their own plastic cup phone. Twelve volunteers from the D.C. Segment and neighborhood ASME understudy areas invited guests to the corner, where they parted with 1,200 ASME drawstring rucksacks, Waves instructive gifts, and ASME youth-situated exercises handouts during the celebration.
